How do the PCD tool parameters affect the cutting performance?

There are three aspects we can take into consideration, which are cutting speed and feed and depth of cut separately.

First of all, as for the cutting speed, we all know that PCD inserts can work on very high spindle speed, but the change of the cutting speed impact on the quality of processing should not be ignored. High speed can improve the efficiency of processing, but in the condition of high speed, cutting temperature and the increase of the cutting force can make the blade damaged and make the machine vibrate vigorous.

Secondly, it's known to all that if the feed of PCD inserts is much higher, it will increase the residual geometric area of workpieces, and effect the surface roughness, if the feed of PCD inserts is much lower, it will make the cutting temperature rise, and reduce the tools life.

Lastly, when it comes to Depth of cut, we understand by increasing the PCD inserts tool cutting depth will make cutting force and temperature rise, it will aggravate the abrasion of tools and effect the tools life. Furthermore, with the increase of cutting depth, it will make the PCD inserts tipping.
